For your own peace of mind don’t use an email account that can be traced back to you – especially not a work email address You never know – your new friend might be a stalker Use a Web mail account such as HotMail or Gmail.

Tell them a bit about yourself, name, age, type of work, interests and hobbies. List as many of your interests as possible, but don’t go into too much detail. Don’t get your hopes up
If things go well, sooner or later you’ll want to meet your new email pal. Don’t get your hopes up too high – sometimes people who get on fabulously via email hate each other when they meet in real life (and vice versa).
