My son's little friend is moving a state away…?

This is really bumming me out – almost to tears – my 3 year old and I have gotten to know a gal and her 4 year old son over the past couple of years. we are both sahm's and just really "click". my son doesn't understand that he isn't going to see his little friend anymore for our weekly play dates at the park and I'm sad to see this mom that I really get along with – move away. I'd like to do something special for them – we are getting together one more time before they move a state away. I was thinking of a little gift for her son – maybe an activity for the road or some self addressed envelopes/fun paper so the boys could stay in touch and be pen pals. any suggestions or elaborations on these ideas – or something you did in a similar situation?
